You may have heard the news that two new major vulnerabilities called Meltdown and Spectre have been discovered.  Please know that we are aware of these serious threats and are taking all available actions to protect our clients' systems.  Microsoft and Webroot have released patches that we have verified and are in the process of deploying across our customer base.   Because these threats act at the processor level, we are still awaiting updates from Intel, AMD, and other hardware manufacturers.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will update you with any new pertinent information.  We have experienced no infiltration at this time.  There are no additional safeguards or steps to be taken as users to protect yourselves other than standard best practices and education.

If you would like to learn more about these vulnerabilities please visit Below is a brief summary of Meltdown and Spectre. We will continue to keep you apprised and secure.

Meltdown and Spectre exploit critical vulnerabilities in modern processors. These hardware vulnerabilities allow programs to steal data which is currently processed on the computer. While programs are typically not permitted to read data from other programs, a malicious program can exploit Meltdown and Spectre to get hold of secrets stored in the memory of other running programs. This might include your passwords stored in a password manager or browser, your personal photos, emails, instant messages and even business-critical documents.

Meltdown and Spectre work on personal computers, mobile devices, and in the cloud. Depending on the cloud provider's infrastructure, it might be possible to steal data from other customers.
